I got a suprise videochat from Elder Slavens and Elder Shaw. Elder Slavens is currently at BYU, and he said that y'all should have visited him there while on vacation in Idaho....taking a detour to Logan is one thing, while taking a detour to Provo is another thing.

Email 43: Pests 2

Sunday night, I didn't sleep that well for some reason. On Monday, we got rid of another swarm of ants.
Monday night, I didn't sleep well again. So on Tuesday morning, I took nap number one.
...Tuesday afternoon, I took nap number two.
Tuesday night, I didn't sleep well again. Wednesday morning, I was on a false "high". I didn't feel tired, but by the time afternoon cycled around, I was feeling nauseous every time I moved because I was so tired. So I took nap number three.

Thursday, I figured out why I haven't been sleeping well.

He commented on an expected hot spell in Kalama this weekend (we may hit 90):

Here, we're just happy when the high temperature is below 100. President Larkin said some of the least comforting words possible to the entire mission: "Remember, it's only June!"

Monday, the four of us in the Duplex, along with the Cleveland Sisters, went on a hike in the Sam Houston National Forest. Yes, it is a respectable forest, with large trees, underbrush, and a couple of friendly dogs that showed up out of nowhere. The Sisters had other stuff to do in the afternoon, so the four of us Elders went to the church building; the other Elders called their family, and I did several things, among which was climbing all over the basketball hoop.
