Today was transfers, so they moved P-Day to coincide with it.

Transfers are next week, so we'll see what happens to his companionshop. He heard that the elder originally assigned to Thailand won't get to go; he'll stay in TX. He said they're really busy now, with the schedule packed up to a week out.

On Monday evening, we went on exchanges, where we and another companionship swapped companions for 24 hours. Unfortunately, almost all of my clothing was in the wash, because I thought we were leaving Tuesday morning, rather than Monday night.
During exchanges was when I visited the Balls. That was fun.

A couple of fun tidbits that he "forgot to include in previous emails:"
- His first night in Houston, he met a missionary who Alexander beat at arm wrestling in the MTC.
- He found it fun to skip fish like skipping rocks.

He observed, as have many missionaries before, that "street contacting don't really work. It is a lot more [efficient] to find people through the members.", attributing this in part to it being a fairly affluent area on average.

As typical, Matthew left the MTC short on sleep. He got to bed Sunday night around 11:30, but was awakened by farewells for other missionaries -- who were, unfortunately, departing at 2:30 AM.
